My name is Julia Martinez. I currently go to Curie high school and I’m 15 years old. My passions that are shown in more of my work are self love, the different aspects of our minds, and possessions throughout my life that stay in my intellect. My favorite mediums are drawing, painting and a little bit of water color. I also draw things that involve society’s problems such as discrimination, injustices, and as well who I am as a person. I’m a person who aspires to face all my fears and learn from my mistakes throughout my time in this world and celebrate that growth throughout my life which is shown behind my artwork.

Through a variety of art mediums whether it be; drawing/sketching, painting, photography or mix of all. I have enjoyed experimenting using different techniques and utilizing multiple art forms one could create. While I haven’t indulged continuously in making art, it is something I certainly always fall back on as part of my free time, something that has been beneficial through stressful moments or periods of coping with one’s mind. Which is why my artwork could vary from project to project but nonetheless I love creating any form of artwork and pinning a certain value of my own to it. Art has been a really big part of my life for a while now. Ever since I was very young I have really enjoyed drawing and I would do it on anything I could. My favorite and the main medium I use now is watercolors. It is a very alluring and compelling medium to learn and play around with especially when mixing other materials with it. I hope in the future during my artistic journey to explore many new art forms and slowly improve my art and find myself along the way. I enjoy making different forms of art such as paintings, sketches, poems, and sculptures. Ever since I was a kid I have used art as a coping mechanism and to overall express myself/emotions. I typically use mediums such as paints, watercolors, markers, pencils, and nearly everything that I can work with in order to deliver my message through the art. With my art, I would reach out to those that can relate or have experienced the topic that it would be about. I would usually have topics about mental health and viewings of life. |
