UPCOMING AND CURRENT EVENTS
To bridge the gap between the perception and the reality of combat, the National Veterans Art Museum offers a place where all can experience veteran-created art inspired by combat and military service. NVAM provides both a physical and emotional space for veterans and civilians of all ages to come gain a new appreciation for how the split-second decisions made in combat can impact a lifetime.

On Liberty: National Veterans Art Museum | Register Online

The National Veterans Art Museum is excited to be partnering with Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York, NY on for their On Liberty: Zooming into Museums Across the Country series!

Join the Intrepid Museum and fellow veterans, service members and their loved ones for a virtual staycation. We will be Zooming into Chicago to visit the National Veterans Art Museum to view artwork created by Veterans, highlighting Vietnam War Veteran artwork, while experiencing the more artful side of Intrepid’s history.

Kids Rank - Foundations: A Conversation | Online
Thursday December 17, 2020, 12:00-1:00 PM
On December 17, we partnered with Kids Rank to share the WE ARE RESILIENCE: MASKS OF HOPE Exhibition. In this session we shared a virtual tour of the exhibition and explored the mental health and well-being of military children showcasing 100 masks made by children of both active duty and veteran service members. Veterans Month | Online
NOVEMBER 11 is Veterans Day. We invite you all to celebrate November with NVAM as Veterans Month, Follow us as we will be highlighting some of our incredible collaborators and partnerships, launching new digital initiatives to bring NVAM to you at home, and sharing what connects us, as staff members and volunteers to the Veteran community. Please follow us as we get personal with you and discover ways to be connected with us. Remember we are all in this together.

Virtual Tours | Online
NVAM Tours have gone virtual! Whether you are an educator planning supplementary material for your curriculum or a corporate group looking for diversity development opportunities for your team. NVAM Virtual Tours provide the same quality engagement with the exhibitions and collection remotely while staying safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Each tour is customized for the groups with optional request for Veteran speakers. Annual Memorial Day Program 2020 | Online
Please note NVAM’s annual Memorial Day Programming is moving ONLINE. In honor of Memorial Day 2020, Monday May 25th, NVAM is collecting names and memories through our WE REMEMBER page from everyone touched by the stories of military service members that have gone before us. This includes active duty service members, veterans, civilians, military families, friends, neighbors, teachers and students. We will also be hosting programing online through  NVAM's Facebook. Honeycomb Project: Make Cards for Vets | 2:00-3:30 PM
Sundays - POST-PONED
Join us for special open hours at the National Veterans Art Museum to explore works of art and meet a veteran, providing a unique and personal perspective on the subject of military service experience. Using the exhibitions for inspiration, family volunteers will create art for veterans! Volunteers make handmade block-print cards to bring cheer to veterans receiving treatment and services at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. This project provides a sense of community support and appreciation for veterans in our Chicago community. Registration required. Quilts of Valor Monthly Sew-In | 12:00-4:00 PM
Third Saturdays - POST-PONED
Please join the Quilts of Valor Chicago Chapter for our monthly Sew-in to assemble quilt tops at The National Veterans Art Museum. Feel free to bring your own machines, tools, and sewing projects, but not necessary. Never quilted before? No worries!
