Jim Moore with NVAM veteran friends, Andres "Andy" Diaz (right) and Brent Webb (left), 2018. NVAM, Chicago.
Jim served in the 13th Marine Regiment in Vietnam and was a strong supporter of veteran issues.
His NVAM service extended above and beyond that which is ordinarily expected. Jim was deeply involved within the museum in many different capacities. He was enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of photography and military history.
His interest in combat photography motivated him to co-organize VIETNAM- The Defining Moment an art exhibition at the museum with fellow Vietnam veteran, Mike Helbing.
No task was ever too small or beneath him. Year-after-year he organized the NVAM celebration of the Marine Corps Birthday- even ordering the cake himself.
Event Coordinator. Museum Greeter. Docent. Curator. Art Advisor. Board Treasurer. Mentor.
He showed up to every NVAM event, program, meeting, fundraiser– as he showed up for everyone in his life. He will be missed. Semper fidelis!
