NVAM honors Veterans Month 2021

Today and Every Day

NOVEMBER 11 is Veterans Day. A day that we are presented with the greatest opportunity to connect with our community in a collective pause to honor the U.S. Military Veterans that have served our country.

As NVAM staff members & volunteers, we do so through the preservation and exhibition of the Veteran Experience, in perhaps the most accessible form of human understanding and connection: Art.

In a sense it's a day much like any other. Today, Tomorrow, and Every Day, NVAM commits itself to the stewardship of the Veteran Story expressed through the Art in our permanent collection and on rotating display both nationally and around the world.

We invite you all to celebrate November with NVAM as Veterans Month, Follow us as we highlight some of our incredible community leaders and partners, sharing what connects us to the Veteran Community.

Let's celebrate our veterans Today and Every Day.

In Flanders Fields
By John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
