NVAM is located in Portage Park, a NW Chicago neighborhood. Hours: Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, 10:00AM - 5:00PM MAKE YOUR RESERVATION Covid Visiting Policies: Masks are NOT required per City of Chicago guidelines, All visitors and NVAM staff who prefer to wear a mask are supported and welcomed to do so. |
Tours
Scheduling in-person tours are currently closed. If you are interested in a Virtual Tour through Zoom, please contact info@nvam.org.
NVAM will soon be offering free virtual tours in Third Thursday Tours. Follow us on Facebook for updates and more information.
Getting to the Museum
We encourage our visitors to use public transport to visit the museum.
By bus: NVAM is located near several CTA bus stops including the #80 Irving Park bus, the #54 Cicero bus, and the #56 Milwaukee bus. The museum is less than one block down, on the right.
By train: NVAM is also located about one mile east from the Irving Park Blue Line “L” stop.
If you chose to drive, while we do not have a parking lot, many visitors find street parking close to the museum. We remind visitors to adhere to parking rules and regulations.
Admission
Although we do not charge for admission to the museum it is suggested that visitors make a donation to the museum.

When visiting NVAM, please consider supporting one of the many local restaurants and coffee shops in the neighborhood.
City News Cafe - a great place to grab a coffee and buy from a magazines or newspaper
Fannie's Cafe - grab breakfast/brunch/lunch at this homey spot before or after a visit to NVAM right across the street
Tata's Tacos - a huge selection of tasty tacos and refreshing beverages
Community - make your visit to NVAM a date night and follow-up at the most delicious cocktails right across the street

Above and Beyond is currently being exhibited at the Harold Washington Library Center: 400 S. State St., Chicago until 2021. Please check the library's hours for viewing.
