ABOUT THE NVAM ARTIST FELLOWSHIP

The NVAM Artist Fellowship creates meaningful spaces for connection between artists who served in the United States Armed Services and the public.

We aim to build shared understanding and purpose between artists and the communities they come from.

Our vision is to develop programs where artists lead experiences that share military service through creative expression.

The fellowship strengthens both personal and professional development for artists in key areas.

Socially Engaged Art-based Service Projects

The fellowship connects artists to communities. Our Fellows recognize the value of their military service and continue that commitment by serving others through their art.

Freedom of Creative Expression

Fellows explore how their service continues to shape them beyond their time in uniform. They know they have more to give. Through dedicated artistic practice, Fellows deepen their understanding of themselves while building connections with their communities.

Growth Mindset & Resilience

Fellows understand that support takes many forms. Their artistic practice builds capacity to understand the personal values that drive their creative work. This understanding strengthens both their art and their resilience.
